The Craft Kit Project: Our First Round of Deliveries!

As previously mentioned, our team at T2SA has been working to continue caring for our community’s seniors, despite the pandemic. To do so, we’ve been transitioning our activities from those requiring physical visits to ones that can be done independently; our first attempt at social-distancing programs has been to deliver self-assembly craft kits to local senior homes, so they can enjoy crafting on their own. Recently, the first two batches of our craft kits project have been successfully delivered to two local senior homes—Revera Hollyburn House and Lynn Valley Care Centre.

For these deliveries, we prepared a total of 60 craft kits for residents to explore. Upon each senior home’s request, Hollyburn House received 10 craft kits and Lynn Valley Care Centre, a larger facility in North Vancouver, received 50 craft kits, each with a warm and encouraging message! We dropped these kits off to Hollyburn on Friday May 29, and to Lynn Valley on Thursday June 4.

Whether you have seniors in your family, as a friend, or as a neighbour, we encourage you to join us in brightening their day with some simple arts and crafts.

Be sure to check out our third blog post where we shared details on the crafts we sent out!

Plus, stay tuned for our next blog post to see how residents responded to our first line of social-distancing activities.
