Hello Spring: 150 crafts and other special news!

Updated: Apr 15, 2021

As fresh buds to begin to bloom and trees to come to life again, the T2SA team has been busy getting our Eater crafts ready! In honour of Easter and the beautiful season of spring, we have sent out 150 crafts to three seniors homes. This round of deliveries has taken a lot of hard work from all of our dedicated members, including volunteers and executive members.

We were beyond ecstatic to have prepared 150 kits for this round of crafts. The Easter crafts included: bunny bookmarks, egg paintings, and spring-themed canvas paintings. Our wonderful volunteers were a huge help in getting these crafts ready, and a big thank you goes out to them!

The craft kits were sent out by the executive team near the end of March, so the seniors will be able to make their crafts by the time Easter comes around.

We contacted some of our previous senior homes, and also contacted a few new ones for the Easter craft deliveries.

In the end, the craft kits were delivered to three senior centres: Lynn Valley Care Centre, Cedar Springs PARC, and Chartwell Churchill House Retirement Residence.

We are looking forward to hearing back from the lovely seniors who give the crafts a try! With Easter and Norouz happening in March and April, we are sure these spring-related crafts will bring a smile to the seniors’ faces. Another thank you to everyone who made this round of deliveries such a success!

Another exciting event for T2SA this month was our Krispy Kreme fundraiser! We are so happy to announce that this fundraiser was another big success, and our team sold out of all the doughnuts within just a few hours. The event took place in front of Fresh Street Market in West Vancouver on Saturday March 27th, and there were also a few online pre-orders. This fundraiser is another milestone for our team, and it will make it possible for us to continue providing services such as craft kit deliveries to seniors. Thank you to everyone who purchased a box of doughnuts, and all of the volunteers who helped in person!

Our club’s biggest goal by making these craft kit deliveries is to let seniors know that they are not alone, and to make them feel cared for. However, in order for us to continue to send these kits we would appreciate donations; even as little as $10 is a huge aid to our team, and will make it possible for us to keep delivering craft kits to senior homes. If you are interested in helping us in our mission, we encourage you to make a donation.
